Terms of service
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms cover your use of Liftonic, the strength training app for iPhone and Apple Watch, and this website. Liftonic is made by Hongquan Xie ("Liftonic", "we"). By using the app you agree to them.
Training safely
Strength training carries a risk of injury. Liftonic, its plans and the AI Coach give general training information, not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Talk to a doctor before starting a new program, especially if you have a health condition, an injury or are pregnant. Use good form, use a spotter or safety equipment for heavy lifts, and stop if something hurts. You train at your own risk.
The AI Coach
The Coach's replies are written by an AI model. They can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for you, so check them with your own judgment before you act on them. The Coach can change your plan or log sets when you ask it to; every change it makes can be undone in one tap, and you're responsible for reviewing what it does. The Coach only sends your data to an AI provider after you allow it, as the privacy page explains.
Your account
You need to be at least 13, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms, to use Liftonic. Keep your passkey, Apple ID and email secure, since anyone who can use them can open your account. You can delete your account at any time under Settings → Account → Delete account.
Your data
Your workouts, notes, photos and messages stay yours. You give Liftonic permission to store, process and send them only as needed to run the app for you, including to the AI provider when you use the Coach. How that works is in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Fair use
Don't use Liftonic to break the law, to send anything harmful or abusive to the Coach or in feedback, to get into other people's accounts, to overload, probe or reverse engineer the service, or to scrape or resell it. The Coach has daily limits so it stays available for everyone. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
The service
Liftonic is free today. If paid features are added, you'll see the price and agree to it before paying. We work to keep Liftonic running and your data safe, but the app may change, have outages or, with notice, be discontinued. If it is discontinued you'll be given time to get a copy of your data.
Liftonic's content
The app, its design, exercise library and this website belong to Liftonic. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and Apple's App Store rules.
No warranty
Liftonic is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted service, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Liftonic isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, for injuries from training, or for loss of data, and its total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid for Liftonic in the past twelve months or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have that can't be waived.
Apple and the App Store
These terms are between you and Liftonic, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund any price you paid for it; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple isn't responsible for claims about the app, such as product liability, legal or regulatory claims, or claims that it infringes someone else's rights; Liftonic handles those. You confirm you aren't in a country under a US embargo or on a US list of prohibited parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new date, and you'll be told about important changes before they apply. Using Liftonic after that means you accept them; if you don't, you can delete your account.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules, except where the law of the country you live in gives you protections that can't be waived.
